Hellscryer K5 User Guide
This information is also available on-device below the Log list.
Handler Instructions: Log
Ⓐ displays the panorama to seek the target selected in the Log list.
Signals from your Explorer with open targets to find are marked with a square target icon.
D-pad changes which target is selected.
(Ⓑ reverts to previous selection.)
Handler Instructions: Panorama
To acquire a new signal, aim at its source in the 360° panorama:
Locate and center the target object on the screen with the d-pad, Ⓑ, and Ⓐ.
Rotate the phase screw on the side to tune the image and its signal to maximum clarity.
Operation Notes
- Only the currently selected target can be acquired. Return to the Log to change targets if you see a different object you wish to acquire.
- Each target found delivers a new signal, often leading to a new target (which is selected automatically—no need to return to the Log to select it).
- Some signals (marked --) have no new target.
- Select an already-found target (crosshair icon) to view it again in the panorama.
- The panorama used to locate signals from Outside is a visual snapshot capturing a single moment. The signals themselves may originate before or after the moment of capture: each signal “echoes” for multiple days after transmission.
- Zooming (Ⓑ Ⓐ) closer than needed to view the target is harmless.
- Headphones recommended.
Shortcuts
- Hold down Ⓐ on the Log screen to view a full-screen transcript of the selected signal, plus its context: the location where you acquired it.
- Press Left to jump to the top of the list and see the total targets found.
- Press Right to jump to the last open target to find.
- Or, when a set of multiple already-found targets is selected, Left/Right cycles them for viewing.
- Hold down Ⓑ in the panorama to quickly return to the Log.
Hellscryer K5 Software Changelog
(Version history in reverse chronological order.)
Version 1.2.2
2025.12.19
- A little additional artwork (not changing any missions, just depicting the answer to an unimportant story question)
- A couple of targets made easier to see
- A few minor punctuation corrections in signal transcripts
Version 1.2.1
2025.12.12
Convenience features:
- “Context” note added to the end of signal transcripts (long-press Ⓐ in Log): a reminder of the target and location that led to the current signal
- Pressing Ⓐ while viewing a transcript would already switch to the pano, but now it will also jump to the signal’s context in the pano: the location where the signal was originally heard (possibly helpful if you’ve been away a while: “the ferry dock below here,” for example, is easier to find with a reminder of the context, so pressing Ⓐ will jump you to the “here” in question)
- New help info below Log list explaining the above
System menu:
- Added “Mission Help” with QR code for this website (also linked on Catalog page)
- “Show full 360” now also re-centers the view to the starting (“north”) coordinates (formerly a separate “Center Pano” command)

- Fixed minor Log weirdness when re-exploring an already-completed saved game
- Fixed one launch card frame
